Okay! With that out of the way, let’s talk about H+H Americas in Chicago this May!
I’ve been considering exhibiting at H+H for years, but kept saying “later”. “I’m not ready this year, maybe next”.
Well, I was approached by some representatives from H+H at Wisconsin Sheep and Wool. We talked and discussed and I gave it a lot of thought. Getting ready for this event would be a massive undertaking. It would involve totally completing my decisions on which yarn bases to carry or not anymore due to tariffs, and nailing down a complete list of core colorways I’d offer to wholesalers. Every base would need at least 90% of those colorways dyed and available to show to wholesalers, and swatches and samples made.
Ever the optimist, I signed up the next week to exhibit and paid the steep booth fee.
Woohoo!

I was assigned a member of the H+H staff to be my point person based on the alphebetical standing of my business name, I was offered a few spaces on the floor plan to choose between, and now you can find KnitzAndPearls Fiberworks in the Indie Untangled Pavilion, booth 1621!

Next, the yarn. In late 2025, we decided to switch to primarily USA based or distributed yarns and fibers. We have successfully made that switch at this point, except for our faux cashmere roving which we are still importing for now.

I created final versions of our wholesale information and pricing sheets, and have mostly nailed down which colorways we will offer to wholesalers. I’ve been trying to organize my website on the back end as well for ease of placing orders for those wholesalers, but that has been quite the task. The wholesale side of the website and its content has to be behind a password protected wall, something I’ve never done before. I’m tech savvy, fairly, but this has been a new adventure!

Now, for the sample kits! We find ourselves in February, with H+H coming up just around the corner in May. Some of the ticketed attendees will choose to add a “yarn and fiber” or sewing sample kit onto their registration. I was given the option to include a promotional product and samples of yarn and fiber into those kits, and I said yes! So yesterday morning, I dyed 150 mini skeins in one of our signature colorways. I’ll be dyeing 150 1oz or 1/2 oz braids of fiber next. I’m tucking them all into a cellophane kit with a flyer including our info and booth number at H+H. These have to be completed and shipped to the coordinator by March 6th. Between now and then and around that, I have a virtual WAFA sale on the 22nd, Scenic Stitches in Chattanooga on the 28-1st, and then Carolina Fiber Fest during the second weekend in March.
Busy busy busy!

This is still my passion, translating color and joy into textiles.
We have high hopes for a crazy successful H+H week! One of my best friends is flying in from PA to be my booth helper, and I’m looking forward to spending time with her and seeing so many friends and colleagues!
I hope you’ll sign up for a free ticket using the link above and come see us too!
